Rick Oberg, LAc graduated summa cum laude from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. Rick is nationally licensed and board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, NCCAOM. He maintains a state license in both North Carolina and Wisconsin and specializes in the treatment of Pain, Women’s health, Infertility and Pregnancy care. He also has extensive expertise in Autoimmune diseases, Anxiety, Depression and Pain.

Rick’s interest in medicine stemmed from a family history of auto immune illnesses. Witnessing first hand the physical and emotional impact of the disease, he developed an empathy and a desire to help. Wanting to ease suffering and improve his family members’ quality of life, Rick was drawn to medicine. Rick started on a more traditional path of medicine initially, but was introduced to eastern medicine and acupuncture after he and his wife began struggling with infertility, multiple miscarriages, and his wife’s increasing anxiety associated with the loss.

After seeing how effective acupuncture was for treating anxiety and learning it could be helpful for fertility and auto immune illnesses, Rick knew it was a perfect fit. His own experience with acupuncture and herbs led to the successful conception, and more importantly healthy birth of their first daughter, and then he and his wife Lori went on to have two more daughters. Rick is as passionate about fertility today as he was when he began specializing in fertility over sixteen years ago. Over that time, his specialization in infertility has helped a countless number of families grow.

Rick’s interest in auto immune illness and treatments began long before his formal education. Initially it was to help his family’s history of chronic pain and auto immune illness, but has grown into almost two decades of knowledge and experience. His interesest in treating auto immune patients became more of a mission since his youngest daughter’s life was threatened by an auto immune illness when she was just six years old.

Treating chronic pain often comes with the territory of supporting patients with auto-immune disease. Rick has mastered many techniques for treating pain over the years, including dry needling, and especially likes to work with our Veterans. With over sixteen years treating chronic pain, auto immune and infertility he has also developed a proficiency for helping stress, anxiety, and depression as they are common threads often shared by these patients.

Rick loves a challenge as he is accomplished in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Japanese Acupuncture, Auyervedic Acupuncture (Marma Puncture), and Korean Acupuncture. He has extensive knowledge of herbs, supplements, and will help guide his patients through the confusion of diet and lifestyle changes. Chris Helmstetter is co-owner of Triangle Acupuncture Clinic, LLC and is nationally licensed and board certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He maintains state licenses in both North Carolina and California and specializes in the treatment of pain.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology at St. Lawrence University and began work as a substance abuse counselor in New York State. He encountered acupuncture for the first time as an adjunct therapy in the treatment of addiction. He trained at Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx and was certified as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS). After running an auricular acupuncture detoxification program in a substance abuse facility in New York, Chris moved to California to study acupuncture in depth at an accredited acupuncture college. He earned his masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Five Branches Institute.

In California, Chris specialized in the treatment of sports injuries, studying Channel Theory under Frank He. The style of acupuncture based on this theory employs acupuncture points above and below an injury (and commonly uses electrical stimulation between the points) to stimulate rapid healing in injured tissues. He continued post-graduate training in the treatment of chronic pain under Dr. Richard Tan in the use of The Balance Method. The Balance Method involves stimulating acupuncture points away from an injured area so as to avoid local pain and inflammation while encouraging muscle release through distal reflex connections. Chris also trained with Matthew Callison in orthopaedic acupuncture techniques. This form of acupuncture integrates Western musculoskeletal diagnosis with acupuncture needling of the affected muscles and joints for difficult cases.

The various styles and acupuncture techniques Chris is trained in allow him to successfully treat a wide array of pain conditions, whether a person has an acute injury, sports injury, industrial injury or chronic pain. Jude is a licensed acupuncturist and physical therapist in North Carolina with over 23 years of experience. He received his BS degree in Health and Human Sciences from James Madison University, his Master’s degree in Physical therapy from Old Dominion University and a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine. He is board certified in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition, he is also certified in Trigger point dry needling. From 2015 to 2016, he served as the National Liaison for the North Carolina Association of Acupuncture and Asian Medicine.

Jude has studied and practiced a variety of acupuncture theories and techniques. This includes Kiiko Style, Yuan qi acupuncture, SA’AM, and orthopaedic acupuncture to name a few. In addition, he has studied Chinese herbal medicine with Sharon Weizenbaum and Suzanne Robidoux. He has an integrated approach to his treatments and combines eastern and western treatment techniques as indicated. He specializes in the treatment of orthopaedics and pain.

Prior to joining Triangle Acupuncture Clinic, Jude worked as an outpatient orthopaedic physical therapist and acupuncturist with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kernersville, N.C. Patrick Marron, LAc, graduated from the prestigious AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. He is nationally licensed and board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He maintains a state license in both North Carolina and Texas. Patrick is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, ABORM. This credential ensures that his work with couples trying to conceive is both safe and complimentary. Patrick specializes in infertility care and women’s health and also enjoys pain management and sports medicine.

Patrick honed his infertility skills at the Texas Center For Reproductive Acupuncture (TCRA), one of the largest and busiest reproductive acupuncture clinics in the country. Over the course of thousands of patient visits, Patrick utilized specific acupuncture and herbal protocols with couples looking to conceive. This particularly rewarding work ignited a passion for not only supporting fertility but in the process helping transform a woman’s quality of life by improving pain and symptoms associated with their menstrual cycle. Ning is nationally licensed and board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also a member of the American TCM Society (ATCMS).

Ning graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2006, which is the oldest top five prestigious universities of Chinese medicine and Acupuncture in China. She began her work as a researcher in the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and as a health wellness counselor in Beijing. She has experience in treating diabetes, thyroid disorders, menstrual disorders, infertility, gastrointestinal disorders, and insomnia.

During her time practicing in China, Ning studied under the guidance of Sihua Gao, a renowned endocrine physician and herbalist in China. Over the course of many years, he helped Ning refine her clinical techniques in treating diabetes and women’s menstrual health problems.

Ning came to the US in 2016 to continue her practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine. Katherine Rowe is co-owner of Triangle Acupuncture Clinic and Director of the Fertility Wellness Program. Katherine is nationally licensed and board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She maintains a state license in both North Carolina and California and specializes in Women’s Health issues.

Katherine always knew she wanted to work in medicine and began her career as a research biologist in a lab at UNC hospitals. While she enjoyed her experiences in the hospital environment, her true calling was in preventative health and actively working with people to feel their best. She found a perfect match in the holistic style of medicine practiced as Classical Chinese Medicine and attended Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, CA.

Katherine brought her skills and a fellow colleague back to the Triangle to open Triangle Acupuncture Clinic in 2004. The clinic has become a cornerstone for Classical Chinese medicine as it continues to build relationships with western medicine and healthcare providers within the Triangle community. Katherine specializes in women’s health, specifically infertility and pregnancy.
